Thanks for the props, I have to also give my brother credit as he has assisted a bit on this, ESPECIALLY on the new web backend I just brought up, that was mainly his doing and his CF mastery!

I looked at it a little bit after I did the modem enabler. I'm not sure what people would want in it, because a lot of the cleanup guidelines are for optional software. I know I could do whatever, but am not sure exactly what to include in the utility. If someone wants to list everything they would like the utility to do as far as cleanups and such, I can look into it further...

Connecting Quickly

There's a post somehwere in these forums which shows how to speed manual connection to Vision by a few steps by putting a link to \windows\remnet.exe on your Start Menu.

You can also speed your download of the Avantgo material by adding a URL link on your Start Menu. The URL file should read

pods://avantgo/sync

With a single tap (when you're connected), it reaches out to harvest your booty.

Because I use Pocket Plus 2.0, both of these items are on the desktop as icons. I can connect and retrieve web pages with four screen taps instead of the twelve (or whatever) required by going through the settings menu.

Does anyone know which of the following G1000 / PPC updates can be installed to an SD Card:

Windows Messenger Update
Windows Media Player Update
Fonix Voice Dial Update
High Encryption Pack

I just wish that it would allow you to specify a folder when installing to the SD card so that I could put everything in a Program Files folder. I know that some things can be installed this way if you grab the cab file and install it manually.

i have every one of those installed to SD card with the exception of fonix.. which i felt needed to be in main memory.

when you install programs, just select memory card in the drop down instead of the default location...

I scanned and did not see it. Is it possible to delete the useless Clearvue apps? I find it highly unlikely to ever use them.

Tom, did you ever make a utility to do any of these tweaks? I am just about to go thru all of these, and if there is an automated program to do it, I would most definately rather use it than possibly kill my g with an incorrect registry tweak. Also, where can I download your modem enabler?

EDIT:
Found the modem enabler. Will be installing it soon. Any info on the cleanup program would be helpful though...
Tou da man Tom. I can't believe you write all this stuff! Wish I had the skills to even think about attempting writing this stuff!

Yes, an automated eVB program to do all of the tweaks, create the right folders, etc. Would be awesome.

Well I went thru and make all the changes listed, and they all worked flawlessly. I didn't do these ones though:

"...speed manual connection to Vision by a few steps by putting a link to \windows\remnet.exe on your Start Menu.

You can also speed your download of the Avantgo material by adding a URL link on your Start Menu. The URL file should read

pods://avantgo/sync"

Not exactly sure what cridland means there. Anyone have any more info on those?

MsgQueueDataFileMicrosoft Raw SMS Protocol (Receive Only)

MsgQueueDataFileMicrosoft Status Message SMS Protocol (Receive Only)

I've got two of each. No extension. Dated *yesterday.* Here's the kicker - the first of each series is 2.71MB (each) and the second of each is 260kB (each). when I copied them off to the gadget onto the computer, it put them at 17.5MB. Oddly enough, my SMS has been ignoring me and forbidding me from emailing pictures for at least a couple of weeks. I haven't touched SMS at all in a week or more.

Now, I was able to delete one of them. The others are not read-only, but they don't go away.

A) what are they? When you check them out in Textpad, you see a light yellow bar. When you check them out in notepad or wordpad, you see nothing at all.

B) they can't really add up to that much, can they? Supposedly right now everything I've got running and installed in main memory adds up to 14 MB.

C) is there any way to move them or kill them? Every little bit helps...

Thanks!

Hi!

Did you solve this problem? I am contantly getting an error message saying that there isnt any memory. Can you PLEASE help me! thank heaps
