PCS Vision Disabled

When I go into phone setting under phone info it says that my user id is: PCS Vision Disabled. Does anyone else see this, or know what it up with my device. Vision works fine but i cant get short mail.

re:PCS Vision Disabled

Mine says the same thing. I did an ESN swap with a non vision phone and had them add the vision when they changed it. I suspect something wasn't entered right when they activated the vision.

re:PCS Vision Disabled

If you go to start - settings - select the connections tab and hit connect. Now check the user ID. It should be there.

Mine says PCS Vision Disabled as well, but I'm connecting with no problem. Not impressed with the speed so far. It hits 80K sometimes which is cool, but it stays around 10-20K a lot too... ugh.

There might be somethign wrong with your phone. With all the phone problems you have had so far it wouldnt be surpriseing. Keep in mind also, with data, even if you have 1 bar of service your voice will sound good but the data will be slow. I would maybe trade out phones and use it for a week. If its not working take it back within 14 days and call in to cancel it. Obviously right now the internal issues about the phone are not there yet since it just got released. You might want to contact hitachi (hopefully they will be better than samsung) and call sprints Vision support and make sure u talk to a level 2 or 3 tech.

I had the "PCS disabled" also.

Go to Start > Settings > Phone > Data > Update Data Profile. This will provision the phone for Vision. I then did a reset and my Vision user name showed up instead of PCS disabled.

You are the man... that fixed mine. It says PCS Vision Enabled now, and my speed tests are coming back way faster. Not sure if that's because it's 1am, or because of this change. I'll do some more testing tomorrow.

Mike,

Please let us know what you think of Vision's speed on the G1000 compared to Express Network's speed on the I700. My personal experience after using both was Vision was faster so I am curious to see if you find any noticeable difference as well in either direction.

Could you give the url to actual url for the test... I don't see anything at that url that gives you your speed. I did a lot of testing over the weekend and was all over the place. I drove around hitting www.texan.net for a half hour or so, several times during the weekend. In one area I was getting 128K and it even hit 208K one time... didn't know that was possible. Other times, I couldn't get above 30K. The most common returned speed was in the 60-80K range, except at my house which seems to be lower. I just checked it a few minutes ago and got 12.4K. I assume this is going to fluctuate with traffic on the system.

I think my increase last night with changing it to say Vision enabled was just because it was 1am.

It's the 'test your bandwidth link which may be a bit hard to locate in Pocket IE as some scrolling has to be done. It's Javescript so the url wasn't apperant on the surface. I was able to grab this one though

2wire.com

Type this url into your G1000's Pocket IE:

http://www.2wire.com/meter/bm.html
