Exclamation Cable or Cradle Connector stripped... Not good!

Just as I am getting comfortable with my new toy, it happens: The unit falls off the table while charging. The landing was soft but it yanked out the cable which now will not click into place to charge and synch.

Whatever clicks into place is stripped. If it's the cable, it's not a huge deal and I already ordered a replacement - any idea if that will fix it? If it's the cradle connector, however, then I am in trouble.

I found out accidently that I can synch through the USB Function Port using the kind of cable that comes standard with most digital cameras (in my case, I used a cable that came with a digital audio recorder) but it does not charge. Since there is an AC Adapter Jack on the unit I presume that I can buy some kind of AC adapter - what kind would I need and where can I get one?

stick with OEM chargers for phones. look on fleabay for OEM stuff or post in the garage section here. you will find some chargers that are non OEM om fleabay and if you cant find any OEM ones then thats your only hope (i take it your phone did not come with its own OEM ac charger).

your USB syncing questions have all been discussed on the fourm. kindly search for more info before posting. virtually all of your concerns have been discussed. we have the largest database for the hitachi G right here (i still have mine) and we even had the hitachi engineers watching this forum (search to find out what i mean).

as for your stripped cable issue, i would bet its just the little pins that lock the cable into the connector.. a new one should fix the issue.
