My G is frozen on the boot screen and I still haven't given up on it quite yet. I was able to pull up the diagnostic manager by extracting the battery pressing the function key while putting the battery back in. The boot screen will display with text at the bottom stating it is starting the diagnostic manager. Once the diagnostic manager is open press the call key for a few seconds the diagnostics will populate with the pertinant information. This is what mine says:

If someone out there could perform the steps mentioned above and compare with my results, please post any discepancies.
