unique problem

hey...i came up against what seems to be a domino of bad luck which has left me with a unique problem.

1 computer was reformated..(losing hatachi backup data)

2 g 1000 fell, got wet and touch screen no longer worked

3 g1000 fell and touch glass broke (taking with it any chance of repair if it was possible)

4 phone was completly reset, seems the batt came out when it fell ..u know what happens when the batt stays out too long.

the problem is..it is trying to go through the setup stage but it got stuck at the alignment screen for obvious reasons..

my solution/request.....i figure if i can get my hands on a g1000 restore file i can use sync to restore toa point past the initial set up and i'll be able to use the phone untill a replacement can be found. any one wll do....once its past the setup stage. can someone send me a g1k restore file..plz

you missunderstand my request...when you sync the g u have the option of creating a full backup file ..thatu can use to restore ur setting / programs in case you have total power loss or did a complete reset...if i can get one of those back up files...it will solve my problem....obviously it should be a file that was created without your personal info. the g will be put too rest....but untill monday when i can arrange for a replacement....i would like to try to get this one working again

that "backup file" as you call it probably wont work with your phone. backup files contain unique (to use your term) information local to that device. if i sent you my backup file it would more than likely cause your phone errors because you will be loading programs, etc that your phone wont have.. and you will get a lot of erros upon bootup.

if you have not already,

perform a full reset by sliding the switch in the battery door. wait about 3 minutes then flip the switch back.

reinstall the battery (battery must be out for reset switch to work) and let it boot up. if you are STILL having the calibration issue, then its probably the screen and/or other internal hardware issues that are preventing the phone from booting (a hard reset is essentially a virtual "backup file" and would return the phone to factory) and no file will help you past that.

dont mean to be so negative, but im trying to spare you some time wasted...
