Greetings Everyone, It has been quite a while since my last post.
I have greatly enjoyed my experiences with the G1000, and I have waited for some time for the integration of WM5, WiFi, Bluetooth, and a slip out keyboard- and now I have transitioned to the Sprint PPC-6700.
I have to say, its a little hard to get used to a 2.8" screen vs. the G1000's full size 3.5" PDA screen. But, at the same time I don't get quite as many funny looks as when holding the G1000 to my head...

At any rate, I thought I would post some links that have helped, along with keywords that google or the search engine here will pick up on, to help newbies.
For some time, Hitachi's web site has erased any links to the G1000- relying solely on Sprint to post the software updates. Well, when I changed over to the PPC-6700 I couldnt find the updates for the G1000 as easily as I used to, due to the way Sprint's website is setup. I wanted to burn a CD for my friend who I am passing this great G1000 PDA/Phone to, with all of the updates. So I had to dig around.
Updated SprintPCSinfo website with recent links to:
Hitachi G1000 SDIO Update
Fonix VoiceDial SR1 update
Modem Drivers (for using your G as a modem for your laptop or PC)
Registry Hacks for enabling the modem control panel on the G1000

I should also mention:
TCPMP - formerly known as Beta Player- great DivX and XviD player for PPC

Immersoft XcpuScalar - overclock your G1000 and play movies at normal speed, menus are snappier, games are crisper, and I personally overclocked my G1000 to 475 for over a year with no problem:

Also, I have to mention SBP Pocket Plus- just for the main feature of traning the close button to actually close and terminate an application!
For the newbies, make sure to read the G1000 guides here regarding system cleanup, moving pictures to storage card, always installing apps on the storage card, cleaning out temp and log files, basically keeping as much RAM as possible available for your computing.
The G1000 was an excellent source of learning for me, regarding my administration of Exchange Server 2003, certificates, handheld synchronization via VPN or Web, etc... this is a great tool to have- enjoy everything about it!
