NEED Help Fixing Hitachi G1000

I did a Hard reset switching the back slider then trying to turn it back on after 2 minutes. When I did that it shows the Hitachi boot up screen then dies. What the heck is going on. I hope I didn't screw it up. Did I?

are you sure the full reset switch is in the full "off" position? meaning its not half way between on and off..

you could have damaged the switch also... check to see if you can slide it back down to the reset position...

reset switch

The switch was fully down. I have no idea why it's not working. I tried talking to advanced tech support but I was on hold for an hour they might not work on Sundays. I did tinker around with it and found the diagnostic manager. Once you start the G hold the blue Fn button. The it will show ram ok and other stuff by hitting end once or twice or talk will make make it do it forever. I don't want to pay another dime for this cool device but if I had to could PDA techs fix it? I saw some thread on here showing they fix it.

you switch could be broke. if so, you csan try and stick xomething in there to move the tiny slider up so the phone turns on but its tricky.

were you able to hard reset? were you able to slide it to the reset positon and then slide it back to the normal position? im unclear as to the outcome...

Slider

The slider switch works fine. I think that the OS has vanished by trying to rest too many times. When it is plugged in the AC adapter it will freeze on the Sprint Hitachi screen. But, when it is not plugged in it shows the same screen then powers down on it's own.

Hard reset unsuccesful just like my spelling. Switch is fine. Darn thing has been ticking me off for a 1 1/2 days and girlfriend likes to tell me I shouldn't buy on ebay. But, the "G" was working fine till I switched battery then hard reset it.

well if the switch is fine then take the battery out and leave it out for 48 hours. dont touch it or anything.

insert the battery and then close the battery door. the dorr must be closed. if it stil acts up then you have a hardware issue. the OS is burned into ROM and you cant delete that by a simple hard reset.

lol.... take the back cover off and if you look at the hole in the upper left corner where the alignment slot for the door is, there's a tiny little light grey plastic rocker switch that tells the phone the door is on and it's o.k. to start. Great for sticking something in there if you need to troubleshoot with the door off. Careful not to snap off the plastic alignment piece sticking up off of your cover....
