G1000 shutting off during calls, why?...

Hello, my G1000 keeps shutting off during calls even though my battery can be at 40% or whatever...anyone know why this may be happening??...

It usually wont happen until it hits 40ish %, but it can sometimes drop a little below that and then do it...

standard procedure questionss here:

are you the original owner?

if not, did you purchase the phone off fleabay?

did you install/uninstall any programs just prior to this happening?

has it always done this? did you drop the phone or try and mess with the switch in the battery compartment?

did you try a hard reset using the full reset switch in the battery compartment?

also, if the batt door is not seated it could cause the phone to shut off...

Hello,

Yes i bought the phone off of Fleabay , so i am not the original owner.

The phone has never been dropped in my posession and i have not installed or removed any programs.

The battery compartment is sealed as snug as it can be i imagine but i have not tried a hard reset, could you point me in the right direction as to how to do that?

Thanks for the reply!...

take the cover off and remove the battery. there is a switch on the right side of the compartment.. its tiny and very fragile!! slide the switch up to completely render the G useless.. leave it thay way for about 5 minutes, then slide the switch back down to reactivate the phone. this will restore it back to factory so if you have valuable info on the phone please back it up before doing this procedure or you will never get it back.

then, do not restore any programs on the phone and try it out for a day.. let the battery charge go down to where you see it cut off and note its behaviour. a sijple reset may fix it.. otherwise, it could be a faulty battery or worse faulty phone..

so its ALWAYS acted thisway since you had it from day one?

Ok, thanks, i will give it a try.

Yeah ever since i got it its been doing it, although at first it happened when the battery got down to about 20%, then it started going up to about 40% like i said.

It sounds like it could be a battery going old but i dunno, i'll give the hard reset a try.

Thanks again ...

yeah could also be the battery.. although i stil use my g and have had it since its debut, my battery and phone works as it did from day one.

dont bother calling sprint for any accessories for this phone as they have washed their hands of it...

your only options are here in the garage forum or on fleabay.. (sorry).

if you know someone local with a G you can use their battery and see what happens...
