I know this phone is ancient as far as PDA/phones go, but I'm going to post this here and pray that someone can help me.
I just purchased this phone off ebay a week ago. I activated it and updated the data profile, but whenever I make or receive a call, the other party can not hear me, I've tried using speakerphone, and a headset, but still no luck. I know the microphone works because I can use voice dial and I have been able to record myself in the notes program.
I really hope someone knows what I need to do to get this thing working because otherwise I'm out the money I spent on it, because Sprint refuses to help me when I call, they tell me to take it to my local sprint store, and my local sprint store says that they do not have the necessary software to diagnose my phone.
PLEASE
PLEASE
PLEASE
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME !!!!!

I bought it from one of those companies that sell refurbished phones on ebay, so it was supposed to be in good working condition.
The frustrating thing is that I know there can't be anything physically wrong with tthe phone because the microphone works, I can use it in other programs, just not the phone program.
Thankfully, the ebay seller finally responded to my email and said that they would replace the phone, but that means that I have to go at least another 2 weeks with no phone (I've already been almost 2 months with no phone because my Toshiba VM4050 broke). Oh well, I guess if I've gone this long without one I can go longer.

Have you attempted to contact a telephone via your G1000 that you can personally listen to? For example, call your home telephone number with your Hitachi and have someone else speak into it; is there a delay? Are there any strange issues?
Then have that same person listen to you, as you speak through your G1000.
You could change the setting in START > Settings > System > Microphone then toggle between
the Auto Gain Control setting-- either Enabled or Disabled. See if either setting has any impact on your voice quality.
i have had the phone now for a couple days (also bought a refurbished unit) and of the 30 calls i have answered maybe 4 had a microphone problem. the caller could not hear me. merely an annoyance at this early stage.
