This is what a customer service rep told me the other day while I was having problems with voice mail notification. He said that there was a "major" software upgrade available for the G, but that it was only available at a Sprint store and that I would have to ask for it specifically.

Does this sound like a load of cr*p to anyone else, or is it just me? Maybe because I've been burned so many times in the past, I have trouble trusting...

I may be around a store in the next few days, so I'll put this ugly rumor to bed then.

sprint dropped the G months ago... they never gave a rats arse about this phone to begin with.. they just released it to shut us early adopters up. i dont see what upgrade they would have. i personally think its a load of crap.

Indeed. The G1000 isn't an active phone anymore, they don't even sell them I don't think at this point. Sorry to say but it was an abortion from the beginning, was never implemented or supported right from day 1. We were lucky as HELL to get SDIO drivers!

I know this will surprise all of you, but the tech at the Sprint store had no idea about ANY software for the G. (besides the SDIO)
