Blackberry 8800

I have a Blackberry 8800 that my brother sent me for my wife to use, and since I have an HTC 6800 already, I thought I try to get the Blackberry working for her. The problem is this ... the Blackberry was through Cingular, which uses SIM cards. Alltel, who we use for a carrier, does not. So now I have a beautiful, shiny paperweight. Anyone interested in a trade or purchase?

Well, I'm not sure. My brother had it activated, but it is without a SIM card now since they transferred it into his new phone. How would I check?

A simple test would be putting in a T-Mobile sim card in there and if you can make and receive calls vs. getting an error message from the phone.

I understand that, but I do not have a SIM card. That is why I am trying to trade the phone. Alltel does not use SIM cards, they are on a CDMA system with internal programming on the phones.
