For digital I use a Canon 350D (think its the same as the digital Rebel). For film I use a knock off of an old Pentex SLR which is actually probably as old as me! Despite that it takes great pictures and does exactly what I tell it too (unlike the 350D... ).
I have had my 350D for awhile now but never really had time to get to grips with it
I'm a hobbyist (on and off for a little over 20 years, but very serious for about the last and love photography. My first DSLR was the Canon D30 and now I shoot with a 20D and use my old 10D as a backup (If I were making money at it, I'da sprung for the 5D, but I still gotta keep up on the other gadgets ).
My favorite thing lately is shooting for a local theater for about the last two years. Its a nice challenge, and keeps me working with it regularly. My work can be found here:
I have a Digital Rebel that I just LOVE! Also have a FinePix A205 that I will be upgrading soon. I've had it for several years and it's just too bulky to carry around all the time. Plus it's a wonderful 2Mega Pixels!! Whoohoo!!!
In the meantime I'm using the Mogul phone... surprisingly good pics for a phone cam!
Been checking this site (along with HoFo) and totally forgot I was a member here...go figure.
Been shooting for way too long...have bounced back and forth between Nikon & Canon during the film days, but have been a Nikonian since the digital age.
Started out on a D1 and went from there.
Current line-up:
2 D2h bodies - both have nearly 200k shutter actuations without a problem
SB-800 & SB-600 (wife's strobe...)
All Nikon lenses:
18-70/3.5-4.5 AFS-ED(wife's)
17-55/2.8 AFS-ED (I love this lens!!!)
80-200/2.8 ED (wife's)
80-200/2.8 AFS-ED
300/2.8 AFS-ED VR (expensive and worth every penny!!!)
The new D3 sure looks tempting, but with twins arriving in another month, that's not going to happen. The D300 looks even more tempting as the new MB-D10 grip will boots shutter rate up and uses the same battery as my D2h bodies.
Just bought an Olympus E-Volt 510 10.1 megapixel with live preview and 2 lens kit. Havent spent much time with it yet but I've had some decent shots to start with.
I use a Sony cybershot t10 for everyday stuff and I use a Olympus e-510 for more serious stuff and for my website. I am just getting into digital photography with the purchase of the Olympus. It is pretty fun.
canon 5dm3, and canon 50d!
my glass:28-135kit, canon100-400mmL, canon 70-200mmL, and canon 50mm both f1.4, and 1.8! every dslr owner should have the canon 50mm! Its like $100 on amazon, and takes awesome photos.
Since December 2007, when I bought my first DSLR, I've been shooting with a Canon 40D and loving it (thanks, MRailing, for the recommendation!). I bought the 40D from Best Buy on a super duper special that included a 28-135 mm lens and a 70-300mm lens. In the past year and a quarter, I've accumulated the following lenses to go with my 40D:
Canon 10-22mm f/3.4-4.5 USM
Canon 100mm macro f/2.8 USM
Canon 50mm f/1.8 (a.k.a. the "nifty fifty")
Canon 17-55 f/2.8 IS/USM (I highly recommend this lens; it has become my primary lens, especially indoors)
Tamron 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 VC/AF (a very nice, walk-around lens when you don't want to carry more than one lens).
I also picked up the 1.4X and the 2X tele-extenders to go with the 70-200 and a 430EX Speedlight (though I wish I had gone with the 500 series).
As a result of my purchase of the Tamron 28-300mm , I no longer carry the Canon 28-135 or the Canon 70-300, I only wish Canon would come out with a 24-70mm f/2.8 with IS.
