Pearl from Samsung 730/760 advice

With Verizon just upgrading the samsung 730 to the 760 and coming out with the Pearl in about 2 weeks, seriously considering it strictly due to size. My needs are quite simple - email and outlook sync. Don't like carrying around that relatively bigger samsung phone evengings and weekends with a belt clip. Tried playing with the pearl at the ATT store - find the typing difficult at best. All the sales people said it takes about 2 weeks to get use to, but just felt that was the party line and I was hoping to get some real insights in this forum.

My other concern is can the pearl be used as a modem to tether?

Look forward to any advice,

thanks,

Larry

Larry I was also considering the Pearl so I am curious to hear some answers to your questions. The turn off was not a full Qwerty keyboard and I do a LOT of typing. I think the Pearl does tether BTW.

well only thing I have to say is the lack of activity/response in this forum is a big reason to go with the 760

You won't find better support than you'll get in the i760 forum here... but that probably isn't the only reason to buy a device. If you are looking to primarily connect to Outlook, then the Pearl may not be the best choice. Any of the Blackberries are designed to really excel when your company has an available BES server that you can connect to. In that case, you can get phenominal push access to your Exchange or Lotus Notes email and PIM data that is as good as it gets. You may want to consider the Q and Blackjack devices too... they ware smaller and run Windows Mobile Standard and should give you good sync with Outlook. The biggest thing you lose vs. the i760 is going to be the touchscreen.
