Antenna and Signal Strength

I've looked quite a bit but have yet to find information on the antenna on my Thera. When I take my PDA apart, there is no connection from the antenna to anything. There is just a screw and nothing else. I've seen a lot about poor signal on these things but mine is almost non-existant. I get a signal of 2 a block from a tower. It almost never works inside a building too.

My question is; does anyone know if the antenna is suppose to be connected to anything? Is there suppose to be a clip or something on it to connect it to the board inside?

Thanks

the antenna is weird in these units.

with the case open you will see on the opposite case a square metal bare spot on the modem where that screw touches the modem

i have a link to a picture the makes it alot clearer.

Thanks for the reply and link akronexpress. From what I can see, the picture shows a brass or gold clip connected to the the antenna screw. At least it looks like one. I checked a couple links in that thread and found a clearer picture. It looks like there is suppose to be a metal clip on the antenna that makes contact with the square pad on the RF Module (modem). Does anyone have a metal clip on their antenna? Mine just has the screw and nothing else. It doesn't look like the antenna screw would line up with anything on its own. If there is suppose to be a connection and mine doesn't have one, it would explain my weak reception. This may explain a lot of peoples problems with signal strength.

Here is a link to the pictures I looked at:

If anyone is interested, I made a clip up that connects the antenna to the Modem. It was interesting since the clip had to match up with the pad on the modem exactically. Since there was a ground right beside it, I had to make sure it did not short the antenna to ground. I used a small flat spring and bent it to shape and cut it to the right size.

The results are amazing. Before I had the clip, the signal strength on my device was 1 or less and was cutting in and out in my basement. After I installed the clip, the strength is now a solid 5. That's right, 5.

If anyone else is missing a clip between their antenna and the modem board, you should see if you can get one or make one.
