thera defaults to old number!!

I just started using my thera again after about a year...trouble is I cannot program my new number into it...it keeps defaulting back to nam 1 with my orig number. Audiovax says it has old software and verizon no longer has the ability to upgrade it.. ( was on an SD card at verizon stores and would be put into slot to do upgrade ). any ideas on how to get this to work??. I've tried resetting the nums in advanced programming in watcher but with no luck. I've also tried manual and over the air programming, once i shut watcher down all of my new info is lost.

my phone also inexplicably (sp) reverts back to its old number every couple months. There is no indication that it happens, other than I can't receive calls or dial out. The signal strength shows normal. I reprogram it to my new number and its fine again.

Send a message via AIM to jfunk

Any updates on this problem? I have a Sprint version and there is one setting on the CDMA tab (I believe IMSI_S?) under the advanced modem configuration that will not accept a new number. When I put a new number in and save, the modem initializes but the old number magically reappears.

After realizing this was the problem with my OTA provisioning, Sprint tech support told me I needed to take the phone into a Sprint store to be "flashed" again. The problem is there is only one Sprint store around here and they no longer have a cable necessary to flash this phone with.

I bought my Thera second hand and when going through the NAM process couldn't get it to store the new number.

Turns out it was a factory fault and Audiovox repaired/replaced the unit for me for free.

Hope this helps

Try contacting your local Audiovox agent and see if this problem falls under the factory fault that I mentioned earlier. Sounds just like the problem I had, and as I said before, Audiovox repaired/replaced the unit for me for free.
