From what I understand bell has crippled the gps in the 5050, if I am mistaken I would love to figure out how to make it work, I would like to use it for pocket strrets and trips, if you find any info out please post it here.

people are trying to over at http://ppc6700users.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3394 for the 6700. It seems promising sometimes and other times just plain hopeless, but one thing for sure...we know it's possible or we like to think it is

Here we go

Ok guys these is what i did and these is what i found about the PPC 5050

1. You can download the PRL.exe from your Windows folder. Rename it to PRL.e and open it with Notepad. Now if you scroll down till you find ##778 and so on you will find other codes that work only on your PDA.
2. You can use this and download your radioStack to an SD card (http://en.pdamobiz.com/en/forum/PDAf...p?TID=151&PN=1)
Then you will need to unpack it to a NB1 file from there.
And then you can edit the 30MB file with Notepad it will take 3minutes till it will load so don`t end task it.
3. Now if you search for words like GPS, PRL, Code, Unlock you will be suprise to find that the chip inside your PDA is not GPSone or AGps but is a RF card GPS witch is a full GPS.
4. If you search for ESN you will find a line that will say CHANGE ESN NEW ESN ESN SAVE CANCEL. Now what is that all about.
Anybody has the Windows PST program for this unit? That is what i`m looking for. O yhea my unit is from Sprint. I just found out that Sprint does not have my ESN in there database. This unit was a test unit and it is locked. So there is no way for me to unlock it. Any ideas where the MSL will be located in the unit. Is it save in the Windows Ce Rom or in the Radio Rom? This will minimize the days of searching in HEX files. Thank you.
