Verizon XV6600- Ringer is not loud

Anyone know if there is a fix to make the ringer louder, I have the default ringer and have it turned up to the max setting but it does not ring very loud?

Also if there is an email program that can forward my corp email without my laptop being turned on?

Thanks
Chris

My Verizon rep. has explained to me that you can evidently take the file into Windows Media Player (on your PC), play it - and at the same time - record it with Sound Recorder. When you record it, make sure your recording volume is turned up. Then, save it as a new file and copy back to your device.

Basically, the only reason it is a soft ringer is because (for some reason), the ringtones included are media player files that were created with a low volume (even on your PC).

If you have a data plan, the Verizon Wireless Sync software works great. Only thing is - you need to have the client installed on a PC on your network that can stay on and connected to the internet/your mail server. Warning: If you go with this option, do NOT use ActiveSync to sync e-mail. Just use a guest partnership. Using this software, you do not need your laptop on to get new mail.

Be cautious about the ringers you use. I installed an old style rotary phone ringer which sounds quite cool and is loud enough. However.... if you ever go to answer the phone but the button doesn't work and it rings again you will get a wacking great ring in your ear which can be quite painfull.

Send a message via AIM to clarkie6

corp email

It's pretty easy to set this up, as long as your corp email has external access to email. Usually its something like mail.yourcompany.com
Ask your IT Manager. But, what you need to do is log in to www.wirelesssync.vzw.com and create an account there with your phone number and the ID that they text message you. Then enter the info in Setup>Account. Also, you'll need some info about your email password and account name.

Basically, you don't need to install anything or be running any sort of client. Please feel free to email me personally for help! I'm the IT Manager at my company and have setup several xv6600's. good luck!
