I am having problems with my SanDisk 256mb + Wi-Fi card as well... and just as you have said Audiovox assured me it would work. Seems I am having many troubles with my 5050 though. Anyway I just wanted to let you know that your not alone in your problem, and that I have customer support questions into both Audiovox and SanDisk so I'll let you know if I ever make any progress.

Unhappy sandisk

I have called audiovox in the U.S., No help refferred me to Audiovox in Canada. I received NO help there, the technition didnt even know what a SD wireless card was and eventually cut me off and hung up saying "we dont support this stuff, click"
I then called sandisk and they gave me a case #. they said they would put in a compatibility request in and that takes 5-6 weeks.
ANYONE have ANY success???I will post any results as they come in

Ok so here's what SanDisk had to say...

SanDisk Response: (11/17/2004 10:20)
Unfortunately, due to hardware limitation with your device, the unit will not support this card correctly. We hope that your device manufacturer will soon come up with a fix on this issue. We successfully tested the Audiovox PPC 4100 only.

We appologize for any inconviniences this may have caused you

To me that pretty much means get a new card, because Audiovox has proven time and time again that they don't really care to support this device. I would be thrilled to hear a different story from someone else, but every question I've ever directed at Audiovox has lead to them seemingly not caring.

Anyway, that's my update... hopefully some better news come out soon.

I never could get the card to work, and Audiovox continued to say they don't care. I got a Socket WiFi card though and it works great, I have to swap cards all the time now.. but then again the way the card sticks out the bottom I probably would have been switching cards all the time anyway.

... based on how great Audiovox is I'm going to say the final answer to your question... no, that card does not work and it probably never will.

Sandisk 256 WIFI and ppc 4100

My Audiovox PPC 4100 the Sandisk wifi card w256m/memory works, but it does lock up the phone when I receive calls. Also isometimes it randomly makes the phone lock up when I am using it. I can surf for hours without problems, then sometimes it just locks up. After a few times locking up, it totally resets itself and all the shortcuts are gone...everything is lost inculding my user information. It seems if I use the card only for surfing and remove it when done I am OK, but that means carrying two cards. I hope they come up with a solution.
