Hello, I have read some sporatic posts about using the 5050 as a laptop modem through the Infra-Red port. Does anyone have detailed instructions on getting this to work? Most of the stuff I have read is all over the map and it's difficult to follow along. Any help would be greatly appreciated

According to Bell and Audiovox, you can only use the Serial interface

I have tested both of these and they work great.

Windows 98 will work using the Virtual driver.

If you use Windows XP or NT 2000 you will need to download the virtual drivers from the link below. Windows NT and XP nolonger use the virtual drivers for cell phones and PDA's.

NOTE: Don't forget to open Active Sync and disable the IR option for Syncing before installing the new IR drivers.

Yup, those drivers are the key to using IR.
