Exclamation Beeping during a call

I get this irritating beeping during calls.

Not all calls and intermittent. Almost the same type of beep one would get when a minute time is on.

I've asked Audiovox and they've never heard of the problem before.

They have exchanged the unit but the new one still does it... I guess I can put up with it..

UNLESS! , someone knows what's wrong???

thanks.

Frank

I've never had this problem... Can it be the call waiting, message indicator, or low battery?

Nope. It's not a low tone, it's a high pitched tone like a minute indictator (you know when the phone beeps every minute to give you an idea of time lapse.)

It's not privacy mode, where you check off ADVISE IF PRIVACY UNAVAILABLE..

and worst of all it's intermittent during the call it happens on (since it's only once in a while).

you might get three in a row then nothing then one bla bla bla.

I did notce, however, that when it does that and I look at the phone, that it gives me a message that it tried to sign on the network to check email but was not able to. Then I DISMISS the event but the beeping persists.

Sometimes when I make a call I'll be 3 mins. into a call then it starts and sometimes stops after a while.

I did move to a window once then poof it stopped.

I guess you figured I'm trying all sorts of things to pin this thing down!!

Again, no help from Audiovox. As far as Bell Canada goes, I may as well be speaking Yiddish.

Frank

I have my email set to check for mail every 15mins. Is that what you mean when you say OUTLOOK.?

By outlook I presume you are refering to the email portion of outllook, right?

thanks.

Yup... You can try turning off that feature, it might solve your problem (since you said you are getting a message saying "cannot connect to network").

I assume that it attempts to connect to 1X Internet to check messages, but the line is in use; thus, displays the message and beeps??

I had a similar issue and found that it went away when I disabled or increased the amount of time between "over the air" ActiveSyncs.

I think it is some sort of warning to let you know that your data call is trying to initiate while you are on voice. I haven't found any documentation to confirm this, however.

Well that's it folks... Disabled auto checking and problem went away. I've yet to try putting the delay longer, but will advise on progress.

Even after hitting dismiss, the annoyance persisted, so I figured I'd take it out all together...

thanks for the helpfull thread folks.

Send a message via ICQ to FMJammo

I got some beeps at the beginning of a call if i was connected to the 1x network, maybe its just to tell that the connection ended.

Beeping Noise

The beeping means that you have an incoming phone call.
