I think you have to share the files with me... I can't seem to access them. My yahoo id is jrosts@yahoo.com. Does the folder say private when you go to it? If it does you have to either share it for everyone or just your friends which would be entering my id in as one of your friends. If you can do this as soon as possible then I can start working on things too.

Thanks,

Hey.. forward it to jrosts@cogeco.ca instead
That will be easier then yahoo. When I use your briefcase and I click into the ppc4100 folder it says its empty. But at the previous screen it says 4 items. I've tried it on 2 different machines and the ppc and its all the same. If you can get these to me today I can start working on them.

Okay... I am an idiot for the cogeco.. Its johnrosts@cogeco.ca
That should work now... I also reactivated my yahoo so if the cogeco account does not work then try sending to jrosts@yahoo.ca and I aslo set up my briefcase at
http://ca.f2.pg.briefcase.yahoo.com/jrosts
If all else fails I made it public and you can try to send it there...
Hopefully one of those options will work.
Let me know...

Guess what? I extracted the files.. now I am trying to recompile the same set to see if I can flash it.. Will keep you updated. If I can do that then I will try and replace the file. I think one of the files, the smaller one is the boot loader for the SD card. Thats what my guess is from putting it in a hex editor. Anyways will keep you updated.

Guess what... I did it.. I flashed a new Boot.bmp. Nothing big.. just a test... then I wiped the memory clean and guess what.. its still there... okay now the hard part... lets get that lock file coded in there...

I will keep you updated and then tell you how to do it so you can do yours. As of yet I can only change existing things using a hex editor and that link I posted on the first page of this post thread from modaco

did u extract the files or did u manage to replace hex code? or both?

well about the boot.bmp file u can replace it with activesync it wont make a difference i attempted that a couple of times.
it might be located in 2 places never know.

about the small file being the boot loader i think you are verry right on that one.

i wonder if we canuse cooked up roms from xda developers i think it might work as long as we can change format from nbf to nb0.

I was able to extract files from the rom but to replace boot. bmp Ihad to use the hex editor. But with the hex editor I could not find or replace our lock file. So now I will try mkrom but ineed more info and I- need cywin to try it. I tried flashing wm2005 rom for xda but when done it would not reboot and I had to re flash. I think you are right about seeing- if we can get help from xda forums . In the mean time we need more info on mkrom .

hey i am not home so i cant check f it would work but

the rilgsm.dll file i think the best way to find is is to open the original dll file not the unlocked one and copy the header then look for it in winhex now the new file is a little smaller than the old one sot will fit there i am assuming that u can fill the rest with 00s

about the wm2005 ge Pocket PC sdk and emulate it on on you pc to make sure it works right. and where did u get an image of wm2005 in nb0 format_

u cant just change the extention it wont work. dont u also have to update the boot strap_ i wouldnt play with the boot strap though cuz if u mess that up the thing becomes a door stop i think..
i am not sure if u can reflash it with a corrupt bootstap. be careful
i am a litte new to the ppc world thats y i am a little slow at it. i am guessing it wouldnt matter if u flash a bad windows image u can replace it with the old one_
thats good to knwo we got some room for error

i was trying to run that image file in iso buster to see if i can see whats insid it it didnt work i used some other fat32 recoery porggies didnt work ither. i am thinking the ntfs migh work but then i doubt it for some reason.

the boot.bmp u can actually replace it from activesync there has to be another one or a different file. or it mightbe in the bootstrap file. check there. hmm nowi cant wait to get home.

good work

alright so i managed to extract the files from the image thats wonderful but the directory structure isnt there. aparently one of the files contains all the fodler structure. read a little at the link i posted above it will tell u wich one.

i was trying mkrom and i have no knowledge of unix, or lenux so i am out when i tcomes to that. i have a couple of friends that can i will try to get their help on it.

the only thing mkrom wil lmake it into a nbf folder wich kinda kills the point.

i was trying to find the rilgsm file i was stating above for somereason i couldnt find it. i dont understand this. its making my head hurt.

farimisimo and jr97ai: I have been reading your exchange with interest. I have looked into the XDA tools too to see if I could use them to update the ROM. Unfortunately I don't have much time to devote to it right now. Please keep us updated with your progresses.
