Can the 4100 be used as a modem?

I would really like to ditch my cable modem service at home, as I really don't need the extra bandwidth, and go with a $50 /month unlimited service with my ATT Wireless provider. I talked with their data team and they don't have any information on using this phone for that purpose, but that certainly doesn't mean it isn't possible.

Anyone know anything about this? The PPC4100 comes with a usb cradle/charger. I don't believe the M$ activesync software supports the modem capability, but then again, I haven't tried. lol

I have 25 more days to figure this out before I reduce my wireless internet service (currently unlimited)... if I can figure it out I'll keep the unlimited and ditch the cable modem .

Thanks!

I'm sure the phone can do this, but I haven't been able to get a driver for it.
But I would not recommend using ATT Wireless for web access. I've tried it and it's painfully slow. Even with their EDGE card, I see very low data rates, high latency, and a lot of pages just time out trying to load.

I'm stuck with their service (have 16 months remaining on my voice contract)... certainly won't be renewing in 16 months!

23 days to figure this out, otherwise I'm down to a basic data plan...
