I use Lotus Notes and Easy Sync Pro to sync up my PIM data with my devices... anyone know of a solution that will let the iPhone sync with Lotus Notes.
I haven't seen any PIM sync solutions, but here are some ways to get Lotus Notes / Domino email on the iPhone...
1) If your organization has the IMAP service running on Domino, you can set the iPhone's IMAP settings to get mail directly from the Domino mail server. However, some organizations don't like to leave this running (most don't).
2) If your organization runs iNotes (Domino Web Access), you can browse your email with the browser. This is slower, requires a connection, and does not alert you when new email arrives, but gives you full email capability.
3) "WirelessMail for Notes" (http://martinscott.com/wirelessmail) will push-redirect copies of Lotus Notes email to any other email address you specify, such as a Yahoo or GMail account. Then the iPhone can get it directly from there with that built-in connection to Yahoo/gmail. The emails in your Inbox will show up in the iPhone inbox automatically, appearing to be sent from the original sender, including the other names in the cc and sendto lists.
There is nothing to install on the server or on the iPhone; you install WirelessMail to your mailfile through the installer. You don't have to leave your computer on; it runs as an agent in your mailfile on the server.
There's a 30 day free trial, and it takes about a minute to install. You need at least "Designer" level access to your mail box to do the install. Most users do, but if you don't, your email administrator can install it for you.
One problem currently with iPhone (using any redirection/forwarding email solution) is that replies you send from the iPhone will appear to come from your Yahoo/gmail account. This is unlike other handhelds which let you change the From address to that of your corporate email. I've seen a lot of complaints about this, and trust that Apple is listening and will address in an over-the-air fix for the iPhone.
Thanks for the info. I actually don't care about syncing email... I'm after getting my contacts and calendar to sync with Lotus Notes... in fact it is a necessity for using a PDAPhone for me.

Mike, I have been at the Apple store the whole part of this morning. I asked them about this and he told me>>>>quote>> "yes, we know about it and it will be addressed in our update" unquote, "so when is this update to be released? Probably, around the last week of september, but might be sooner. Can you confirm please? Give me an hour and come back and by that time I might get an answer back to the email.
hour passes by, email shows up and VOILA..............in the works!!!!! So Mike your request might happen sooner than all the other requests that has been queued so far by iPhone users !!!!!
dang it, it is so easy to talk to the Apple guys at the store and they KNOW the frigging product inside out and so courteous when you ask questions. IF they don't know the answer they have folks there that are all the way up the food chain to help you...........sure didn't get that with the "other" PDA makers

Funny it worked.....the last time!!Now I am not sure what was working before they put a hole in my head!!!!
Well I'll be shocked if Apple actuall addresses syncing with Lotus Notes themselves. There has never been a case where either Microsoft or Palm dealt with this, and IBM's solution is kind of lame. Microsoft has always dodged it because Notes is a competitive product to their other lines.
I am also interested in this fuction, I fund a comany that clames to do so on their beta, I downloaded the product, but I can't set it up. I sent and e-mail to support. Here is the link.
I use companion link to sync with google calendars, then I have an app that syncs my iPhone with google calendars. I could use iCal to subscribe to the google calendars andrhen sync, but if I am on the road, I'm screwed. Also, I have to do it this way because it is my work computer and I have limited privileges to install apps
not a 100% confirmed answer, but I spoke with tech support at Commontime software (they make the premier enterprise sync tool as well as a strong personal tool) for Notes synch. They are NOT making an iPhone version of the software at this point.
They had originally intended to, but with undisclosed limitations in the SDK they can't create something as well as they would like.
What is the cost for NotesPro? I don't have an iPhone but I know some of my users would be interested in getting one if they knew they could get their calendar and such on it.
I believe that NotesPro requires server configuration changes to work, and in my case that makes it unusable. From what I understand, it also doesn't give you anything that isn't available via iNotes Ultralite which IBM is supposed to make available later this year. I am fortunate enough to be running iNotes Ultralite as of this week and am pretty impressed. It is a browser based solution and fits the iPhone model very well. It gives you full access to email, contacts, and calendar.
Sorry admin, you are incorrect - this is a mailbox based product
All you need to do to make this work is to load an agent into your mailbox, it is a secure pull product. I heve not been able to make the contacts work, but the mail and calendar work for me.
Again, the only thing required of your server is that it's accesible from the internet and webmail enabled. Install the agent and off you go.
I have sent Jimmy a couple of emails and he said he is working on the other functionality - works for some but not for others.
Does this work as a client sync, or only server based? I am looking for something to work like EasySyncPro, but with the iPhone.
Has anyone found a solution that works as a client sync... something to work like EasySyncPro, but with the iPhone? I might not be able to justify getting an iPhone it is more complicated than my current Windows Mobile based phone.
