I do have something that is working, but its something a coworker developed that is working for us to sync the calendar to iCal on the Mac. He's taking a look now at the contacts side. IBM's solution is iNotes Ultralite for now and I've not seen any indication of them doing an EasySync type solution for it.

Cool Here is a solution

download winfonie mobile 2.0 (winfonie.com - Winfonie mobile 2 - Bertels + Hirsch Softwarelösungen) -> trial
install en adjust settings as described on their site
Also instructions to sync cal & contacts (both different) are listed on their site.
However... to sync calendar your you NEED to jailbreak your iPhone in order to SSH into it (Apple doens't allow 3rd party apps to comunicate with cal yet...)
on iPhone app store install SyncML (free) and install SSH through Cydia (after jailbreaking iPhone)
Follow instructions on winfonie website and you have it up and running in no time.

Buying a licence of winfonie is worth te money because they update their software frequently and keep it up to date with newer firmware versions...
Also, reproted bugs are usually solved within 24h

TieCal

I've written a completely free (and open source) tool called TieCal which you may want to try: tiecal - Project Hosting on Google Code

What it does is it takes all your calendar entries from Notes and synchronizes them with Outlook. From there, it can be synchronized using iTunes to your iphone. (Or any other PDA which syncs with Outlook but not Notes).

It's in beta, but it works very well (me and a few collegues are using it daily) so feel free to give it a try.

The only downside is that you obviously need Outlook (2007 is the only tested version) installed, but that's not my fault, it's Apple's
