The word is you can tether using the Droid just like iPhone's MiWi...

Droid 5mp dual led flash
bigger crisper screen
faster
soft & hard keyboard
easy tethering from the start
great web browsing
multi-tasking
larger network
cheaper network
directional pad (gaming? potential is limitless)
expected to have more apps than iPhone (already over 10,000)
Better quality video than iPhone
Anything iPhone can do, this does better...

I am hard pressed as to why to stay w/ the iPhone now that the Droid is here...

So far 50% of us are thinking of dropping the iPhone for Droid... not a good sign for Apple/AT&T... I may have to buy some Verizon stock as well now...

Market value per share means nothing when you compare two stocks... You have to compare the overall outstanding shares a company has issued. Verizon has a market cap of $84 million while Apple has a market cap of $169 million. This is a better gauge of the difference between the two companies.

$188 per share vs $29 per share isn't correct
$169 million market cap vs $84 million market cap is.

And with over half of us saying that we are interested in this Droid verizon has and are possibly willing to drop the iPhone for verizon, this may be a good indicator of the potential for Verizon to pick up a good number of customers, and when they do, and release that info, their stock will go up in value. AT&T needs to be more concerned than Apple though because Apple iPhone is AT&T's cash cow these days. Apple is well diversified in other areas that are profitable, with a fairly low debt to equity ratio compared to AT&T.

I'm keeping the iPhone but will get a Droid to see if I can use it to replace the other avatar to the left and dance on the deck as I see my last WinMob phone disappear in the wake. (I've thrown 4 Treos into Chesapeake Bay (3 palm, 1 winmob). That's what convinced me to go iPhone. It doesn't suck as much. ( I reboot the iPhone once / week, the WinMob 3 times/day). Anyone have a smart phone that will run as reliably as my 15 year old diesel engine?

my 6600, 6700, and 6800 are all collecting dust and will never go back to them. Winmo is dead to me.

I totally love my iPhone and currently have no thoughts, let alone plans, of switching phones. Now, if Apple made an iPhone that worked on VZW's network, I wouldn't think twice about paying the ETF, shelling out the $ to buy the new iPhones, and going back to VZW.

Some of the items in this list are really not Pros.

Droid 5mp dual led flash- Pro
bigger crisper screen- Pro
faster - Just because the hardware specs are better does not make it faster.
soft & hard keyboard - Con...hard keyboard is a waste of space and weight.
easy tethering from the start -
great web browsing - No pinch zoom....it can't be that great.
multi-tasking - This is a con as much as a Pro.
larger network - I am sure each company could spin it either way.
cheaper network - Lets look at the fine print before such a statement is made.
directional pad (gaming? potential is limitless)- Pro
expected to have more apps than iPhone (already over 10,000) - The pre was expected to be an iPhone killer.
Better quality video than iPhone - Pro
Anything iPhone can do, this does better... I have a hard time believing that until I play with one.

The iPhone still has itunes....you can't argue with iTunes success.

Faster, all videos show (and comments) that it's extremely responsive, much more so than the iphone.

Soft & hard keyboard is a big plus for me and a main reason for me to go Droid, while it's still the same size and weight as the iphone.

pinch zoom is nearly impossible w/ one hand, tap is the way to go for me...

Multi-tasking is a pro... not sure what you mean...

larger network... not sure how you spin that, verizon's network at 3G's speeds are multiple times larger than AT&T

Cheaper network is a fact, I have both AT&T and Verizon cell phones

iTunes will be quickly deleted off my computer.

-----------
The side by side comparison shows Droid crisper, faster, more responsive, more options for input (hard/soft), on a larger network, cheaper monthly cost, while being the same size even with the keyboard.
----------

But I digress, it's all talk and #'s till we have it in our hands Friday.

Multitasking is a pro for some and a con for some. The iPhone JB version has Backgrounder, which enables multi-tasking. I remember my winmo Verizon 6700 had an app called Kill All.....I couldn't live without it....it effectively killed multi tasking.

iTunes is not replaceable for a one stop shop to load up your iPhone with entertainment prior to a flight or a road trip. Sure there are other apps, but nothing as slick as itunes, with the equivalent selections of labels and studios.

iPhone will have an FM radio Droid won't!

I have no reason to use itunes, never did till I got an iPhone and when I drop the iPhone then iTunes gets the big old delete for it's bloated poorly programmed self.

the iPhone OS is NOT made to multi-task, yet the Droid OS is. That is the big difference there in terms of why it's so responsive. The Droid OS is leaner and more responsive which is why it's so much faster than the iPhone OS. They have the same hardware but the OS makes all the difference.

*** iPhone will have MMS........ years later.... yawn....

You make a good argument. Proof will be in the pudding. I will we looking at them at the next Verizon kiosk I encounter after the 6th. However, the Droid will brick itself quickly by moving across an international border. That will be an eliminator for some.
