From what I am reading, the pwnagetool works on 2g and 3g iphones but NOT 3G S iPhones. I guess us early adopters of the 3G S need to be a bit more patient.

I had to re-read my previous post about 3 times to see what you meant. Yup, I meant 2G and 3G. I've gone ahead and edited my previous post so it now reads correctly.

bah... so i used aptbackup and all the programs I had in "Categories" are not visible to me and yet itunes says they are installed already and so does the app store... I reinstalled aptbackup and apparently it was one of those programs I had in a "Categories Folder" so I can't get to that either to restore my stuff....

long story short, remove all your categories before updating to 3.0.... I had to install categories, recreate the folders and add the programs to those folders, then remove them so they would all show up again outside of the category folders.... yeah 87 programs....

So no JB for 3Gs yet? - only 3G with 3.0?

You can use the IPSW you downloaded to upgrade to 3.0.

So I'm confused by all of this. I was JB'd, was going to hold off on upgrading but did. I used QuickPwn when I broke before. While it seems that there is a way to JB available, it almost seems that there are reasons to still hold off? Any ideas on when QuickPwn will be available.

I only JB'd for Sling and PDAnet, but I am missing my Categories and Boss Pref's. Figured I could make do for a few days but hopefully this will all come clear soon.

Normally, I agree, but the demise of QuickPwn has not been publicized much. It's strange, really.

I agree. I also keep wondering why the Dev Team can't come up with names that make a bit more sense (or, at least, are a bit more obvious).

OK so I go over to the Dev-Team site and I see that they have redsn0w working for 2 and 3G iphones.

Then I go to iClairifed.com and Quickpawn.com and no love yet.

However, QuickPawn siad maybe by Friday!

I tried to use the instuctions from iClarified.com but ran into the issue of not being able to fine the .psw file!!!!!!!

I am going to now get tethering to work and wait for Quickpawn to be released.
