REDSN0W PROVIDES SIMILAR FUNCTIONALITY TO QUICKPWN.

Jailbreakers: I know a lot of you here are waiting on a QuickPwn 3.0 download for the iPhone OS 3.0 firmware, but unfortunately Dev Team has decided to retire the QuickPwn program. QuickPwn.com is working on making it and plans to have the QuickPwn 3.0 jailbreak released by Friday this week (possibly earlier, but we don’t want to get your hopes up). If you’re using iTunes 8.2, the current QuickPwn will not work on it but we are working on fixing this in QuickPwn 3.0. If anyone has experience creating jailbreaking/unlocking software and would like to help with the QuickPwn 3.0 jailbreak please e-mail webmaster[@]quickpwn.com.
We’re used to (though still aren’t happy about) less predatory websites, like quickpwn.com. That site (1) is not us. We don’t consult with them in any way (2) makes money from their Google hits (they’re usually near the top) (3) sometimes gives very very bad advice (like tweeting yellowsn0w users to use QuickPwn on 3.0 betas. Bad suggestion). (4) also owns yellowsn0w.net, another money making website.
redsn0w 7.2 worked perfectly fine for me... no need for QuickPwn. it's the same process and format, nothing is different really. Hold this button for 5 sec, hold the next for 20, done... seriously, there isn't a single reason to wait for QuickPwn, especially when it's not even being made by the same people anymore.

The last I heard, Winterboard had not been upgraded to work with 3.0. However, I confess that, since I upgraded to 3.0 (and then the 3GS), I have not jailbroken my iPhone and, thus, have not kept up on the J/B apps so it could be the case that Winterboard has, in fact, been upgraded to work with 3.0.

Thanks for the heads up. That gives me one more reason to look forward to jailbreaking the 3GS (reason number 1 being so I can Sling on the 3G network).

I reinstalled my mobile substraight and have not had a crash yet... it's only been 8 hours just about though.

It's strange. That's what I was downloading but redsn0w asked for the ipsw file, which isn't in that download. I downloaded Pwned, it automatically found the download which it used to create the ipsw.
I don't understand it but I'm JB'd and have my Sling and PDAnet back so I'm happy.
I had to re-download my Cydia apps as none of them restored with aptbackkup. Not a real big deal as I didn't have that many of them.
Anybody using Stack? I re-downloaded it, it actually put it back with my stack but when launching an app in Stack my iPhone goes into Safe Mode. I didn't even know it had a Safe Mode.
Reports are now starting to surface that they are getting closer to jailbreaking the iPhone 3GS. I just read a report that was posted about ten minutes ago indicating this is the case.
