Check the release notes. You might need to refresh your repositories.
http://www.junefabrics.com/iphone/updatehistory.php
Quote:
Version 1.32
  • Fix another major memory leak that could cause some iPhones to hang after long period of PdaNet usage.
  • Fix a CPU performance issue that will cause unnecessary battery drainage and over-heating.
  • Fix an IP address assignment error when the iPhone switches from an existing router.
  • Fix conflict with existing DHCP server in your network.
  • Assign "my.iPhone" or simply "my.i" to the phone so that you can ssh or scp to your iPhone without looking up the IP.
  • This would be our first stable build. All existing PdaNet users should upgrade to this build.

From my iphone/Cydia under "Details" of PDANet, shows 1.31 but under change log within the same screen shows 1.32. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it still shows 1.31.

weird....I just left Cydia running and after a minute a notification came up saying 2 upgrades were available; 1 for PDANet and 1 for Intelliscreen. I guess I'm good to go.

So I finally got this to work as I'm using it right now on a iBook G4 (the lady's laptop) and it kinda works ok. I loose connection every few minutes or so, so then I have to use the airport icon to disconnect and then reconnect and I'm up and running again. Hopefully it will become a bit more stable in a couple patches. I'm using the latest patch. It is nice to have it kinda working though.

I have now been using it on an old XP machine w/ out a single lost connection yet. I think it may have been interfering w/ the iBook G4 because it was on as well at the time. can you not have multiple devices connected at the same time?

I would be surprised if you could connect to multiple machines simultaneously. I thought ad hoc was only 1-to-1. Does it work better if you disconnect the XP box?

I can't get this to work. PDANet never appears under listed WiFi networks on my iPhone. WiFi is turned "on" on iPhone.

yeah you have to create an adhoc network using your laptop OR pc, then connect to that network using your iPhone, Then load up pdanet. very simple but you have to follow the directions.

Yes. this is where nothing appears:

# 5 Now on your iPhone go to Settings->WiFi and "iPhoneNet" should show up in the list unless your computer is already connected to a router. Tap on it and your computer should go online.

Just wondering......

What is the name of the Comp-to-comp adhoc wireless network you created on your PC?

AFTER you have created the adhoc wireless network from your computer, your computer should be broadcasting that signal. You will then be able to see that signal from your iPhone. if you have not done that correctly on your computer then there is nothing for your iPhone to see.

iPhonePDANet

I select it and I immediately get asked for a network key. Is this correct?
