Okay, I don't want to disappoint my fans so I'm baaaack. I lucked out; the resort has Wi Fi so I'm able to blog a little bit.
Yesterday, before I left Phoenix, I installed Intellisync and Cycorder on my iPhone. Hopefully, things will continue to run smoothly.
It's now 9:25 a.m., and I have about 35% battery remaining. I used Wi Fi a bit yesterday, as well as surfing via Edge during my travel. So, my usage was a bit more than normal. I just went to check my usage stats, but they are blank again. I have no idea why other than perhaps they were reset when I installed Intellisync. I'm going to charge my iPhone now because I don't know when I'll next be able to charge it.
BTW, in case anyone is curious, there's no 3G service at the Tubac Golf Resort & Spa. Edge coverage goes from 5 bars to No Service. Last night, at one point I had No Service, as did another iPhone user with my group (I don't know whether he has the 3G iPhone or the 2G iPhone). Right now, I've got 5 bars. Most of yesterday, I had at least 2 bars. Because there's definitely no 3G coverage here, I'm going to turn 3G off. We'll have to see whether I remember to turn 3G back on on the way home.

Sorry about Sunday and yesterday. I was on the road most of the day Sunday and, thus, couldn't post. Yesterday, I spent the day paying the price of being away from the office for two days. So, no Day 75 or Day 76 report.
Last night I fully charged my iPhone. At 8:01 this morning, I reset the stats and unplugged it. I'm back to normal with Bluetooth and 3G on, but Wi Fi off.
7:15 p.m. (approximately)--I've just left my office for the day. I'm in my car in my parking spot. I take my iPhone from its case to call my wife. It shows no service. I pull out of my parking spot and head toward 16th Street. Still no service. I pull out onto 16th Street and head North towards Northern Avenue. Still no service. I head eastbound on Northern Avenue. Still no service. I turn off 3G. Still no service. Around Shea Boulevard, I'm still not getting any service. This is really weird. I power down the iPhone and then restart it. Now I'm getting five powers on 3G coverage. Strange.

8:50 p.m.--I'm showing 21% battery remaining so I'll charge the iPhone tonight. Stats read as follows:
Usage since last full charge 4 hours 53 minutes
Standby since last full charge 1 Day 12 hours
Current period call time 1 hour, 2 minutes
Lifetime call time 1 Day, 17 hours
Data sent 270KB
Data Received 1.4MB
I've had Bluetooth and 3G turned on; Wi Fi turned off. Still set to fetch new data every 30 minutes (for my Exchange server; for GMail and Mobile me, it's set to push). Location Service is on. I've had vibrate turned on and off from time to time.

Sorry about no Day 81 report. Too busy, between my kids' two baseball games and working 6+ hours at the office. In any event....
8:21 p.m.--My battery is down to 6%. Let's see what my stats look like:
Total usage since last fully charge 5 Hours, 46 Minutes
Standby time since last full charge 1 Day, 10 Hours
Current Period Call time 1 Hour, 38 Minutes
Lifetime call time 1 Day, 20 Hours
Data sent 722 KB
Data Received 10.0MB
So, I have gotten quite as much standby time this battery cycle; however, I have used the iPhone for about 2 hours more, and used at least twice as much data. For example, today I was constantly using Pro Football app to check on the score of the Bears game.
I did have one thing weird happen today. This morning, I was driving from my house (still in my neighborhood) talking to my dad. All the sudden, I could not hear him and he could not call me--but the call was still showing as being connected. The call never disconnected on its own so I ended the call manually after 10 seconds or so and then called my dad back. Everything was fine after that. This happened on the street near my house when I occasionally drop calls. Hmmmm....

8:03 a.m.--My iPhone is fully charged so I reset the usage statistics and unplug it from my MacBook. Last night, I added a few custom ringtones to it. One of the things I don't like about the iPhone (compared to my WM devices) is the inability to easily using custom alerts for things such as low battery, new SMS, new e-mail, calendar reminder, etc. IMHO, adding and selecting a custom alert should be as easy as adding and selecting a custom ringtone.

Sorry about no report yesterday. I guess I had nothing to report.
About 6:30-6:40 this evening, I got the 20% low battery warning while I was yacking away with my dad.
Right now, it's 10:16 p.m., and I'm showing 16% left. Usage stats read as follows:
Usage since last full charge 4 Hours, 45 Minutes
Standby Time 2 Days, 14 Hours
Current Period Call Time 1 Hour, 12 Minutes
Lifetime Call Time 1 Day, 21 Hours
Data Sent 593 KB
Data Received 4.8MB
I'll charge the iPhone tonight. I'm in a mediation tomorrow afternoon so I might actually have quite a bit of usage in between the caucus sessions. We'll see....

Sorry about not posts the past couple of days. I was expecting to be able to post something Friday night about my usage stats, but the battery died on my around 10ish at night about a block or two before I got home. So, I had nothing to report (couldn't see the usage stats) and was exhausted. Yesterday was another long and tiring day.
Here's somewhat of a summary: When I got home Friday night, I plugged the iPhone into the Griffin charger and let it charge overnight. Yesterday (Saturday) morning, I reset the usage stats and unplugged the iPhone from the Griffin charger at 8:30 a.m. (sharp). It then headed out for my son's baseball practice and game. While he practiced and played, I used the iPhone as an iPod for the first time. It was great being able to listen to some tunes while I watched him play. I was amazed that after about an hour of listening to music (through headphones), the iPhone still had 100% battery remaining. I must have listened to music for somewhere between 2 and 2 1/2 hours. In addition, I had a couple of texts to and from my wife (who was out our younger son's baseball game at a different school). I also have a conversation or two with her on the iPhone. Over dinner, I let my kids watch a 1/2 hour TV show on the iPhone. Now, at 9:25 a.m. on Sunday (25 hours later), I still have 40% battery remaining. Current usage stats are:
Usage since last full charge 5 hours, 12 minutes
Standby time since last full charge 1 day
Current period call time 47 minutes
Lifetime call time 2 days, 0 hours
Data sent 356 KB
Data received 4.3MB
Oh yeah, I surfed the net for about 10 minutes yesterday and checked e-mail several times. Yesterday is what I would consider heavier than normal usage for me, and I made it through the day with juice to spare.
More later if I have time and energy....
10:09 p.m.--Quick, final report for today. 4% battery remaining. Stats:
Usage since last full charge 7 hours, 35 minutes
Standby 1 Day, 13 hours
Current period call time 1 hours, 38 minutes
Lifetime 2 days, 1 hour
Data sent 445 KB
Data received 4.8MB
What's amazing is that I've gotten 7 1/2 hours of usage with 3G on. Moreover, I also had Wi Fi on a bit today. Maybe the secret is to use the iPod feature more often.

Now that you're approaching 90 days, maybe you should rename the thread "my first 30 days and beyond?" BTW, still reading and still enjoying. If I can get decent coverage at home, the iPhone will be my next phone when my VZW contract is up in about 6 months.

Thanks for the encouragement, Duncan. I was wondering whether I should stop at 90 days or keep going. The irony is I felt like I actually had something new to report today (having used the iPod feature yesterday). If nothing else, hopefully this thread will give prospective iPhone users and idea what to expect in terms of real life battery usage, coverage, and other issues.

9:19 a.m.--When I got home last night (after 8:00 p.m.), I still had more than 50% battery remaining. However, now, I only have 35%. I have a feeling I'll need to charge in the middle of the day so this could be my last usage stats information this charging cycle:
Usage since last full charge 4 hours, 18 minutes
Standby since last full charge 1 day, 1 hour
Current period call time 29 minutes (much lower than normal for me)
Lifetime 2 days, 1 hour
Data sent 338KB
Data received 1.6MB
More to come later....
8:37 p.m.--My iPhone is down to 3% battery remaining so I'll charge it tonight while I sleep. Stats now read:
Usage time since last full charge 6 hours, 19 minutes
Standby time since last full charge 1 Day, 12 Hours
Current Period Call Time 1 Hour, 16 Minutes
Lifetime call time 2 Days, 2 Hours
Data Sent 473 KB
Data Received 2.6 MB
I'm still running with 3G. Bluetooth, and Location Services on and with Wi Fi off.

9:39 p.m.--I just got home after a long day of work. When I left my office about 20 minutes ago, I went to call my wife to let her know I was on my way home. Wouldn't you know it, my iPhone was dead, dead, dead. The battery had died out sometime this evening, and I didn't know it. I wish the iPhone had a better low battery alert.

8:10 a.m.--My iPhone is fully charged so I reset the stats and unplug it from the Griffin charger. I've very much hoping sometime during the next day or two I can try out the Best Skins Ever skin.

11:59 p.m.--Today has been one very long. It started with my son's baseball game at 8:00 a.m. and just ended with a charity dinner. My iPhone still has 24% of its battery remaining, though (and I did not charge it last night). Current stats are as follows:
Usage since last full charge 4 hours, 11 minutes
Standby time since last full charge 1 Day, 15 Hours
Current Period Call time 33 minutes
Data sent 876 KB
Data received 26.3MB
I'll charge the iPhone tonight so it will fully charged and ready to go tomorrow morning.

No to be party pooper here but how long will this go on? Wasn't the original title of the thread "my first 30 day's"? Again, not busting your chops, just curious.
