Cool iPhone 3G water resistant?

So Friday I placed down on the floor my cat's waterbowl and my iPhone that was in my shirt pocket (hands full when I got out of the car....) slipped out and splash right into the bottom of the water bowl. It was probably in there for about 4 seconds, completely submerged. When I pulled it out the screen said something like "this device is not iPhone compliant" or something... I was like wtf... Well a quick towel off and a hair dryer session on cool air later and the iPhone is still working 100%. But... I had 2 random contacts that dissapeared. They were both in my Favorites and thier phone number is there, but all their contact info is gone. I know the one number (my father) but I don't know the other lol... I used the phone all weekend and it seems to be fine, even the speakers and mic.

Maybe you need to consider a nice holster case. I use the vertical leather one I bought at the AT$T store. It has the initals DIO on it.

I have that velcro case, but my hands were full and I just stuck it in my shirt pocket fully knowing that I was about to destry my iPhone, but my hand were full so I had little choice and then I forgot it was in the pocket.

I'm not sure what "Ronnie James" means...

Oh and the initials are DLO

Well, there's the problem. Mark said it was "Dio". Hence, Ronnie James.

Ronnie James Dio--now there's a blast from the past. onlydarksets, you're showing your age, and amirmckelvey is showing his youth. I remember Holy Diver from when I was in high school. (Now, I've shown my age. )

What's even creepier/stranger to me is that not only is Ronnie James Dio a blast from the past, he is from my hometown of Cortland, NY! Go figure!

Ok... back to the original topic.

Been lurking in the iPhone forums as I haven't made the switch yet, but I had to make one comment that may put it in perspective for amirmckelvey...Ronnie James Dio was the guy in the poster that sang to the younger Jack Black in the Tenacious D movie.

OK, so it's two comments...the DLO logo always looks like DIO to me too.
