I'm looking for the repository for customize 2.0 ALPHA you just sent me the invite for. the instructions said to add the source - customize.thespicychicken.com/plist/installer but that's not on my list in sources. ideas?

It's not in your list of sources because, as the instructions said, you have to add it!

To add ANY source to Installer, you must click the Sources tab, then click on the Edit button in the upper right corner of Installer, and then click on the Add button, type in the name of the source/repository, and then say ok.

Also, if you add the source for Customize 2.0 and then install it, it will ONLY work if you have an active registration with thespicychicken. So, unless you have an invitation, it will currently do you no good to install it.

I'm having a issue where it starts to open then it just closes out on me. Any ideas?

Yes. Most likely permissions are not set correctly. If you have WinSCP installed on your computer, then use it to get inside your iPhone, then go to Applications, highlight the Customize.app folder, and then change the permissions to 0755 recursively.

The easy way to address this is simply to uninstall Customize, reboot, then re-install it. That may or may not do the trick.

If using WinSCP, and changing permissions sounds too complicated, then using alpha software is probably not something you should be doing. Please remember that I did caution you about the instability of this software. Customize 2.0 is NOT like installing and using other software that is available on Installer. This is still in the testing stage, and the reason to install it is to provide feedback to the devs so that they can work out the bugs.

Read through the FAQ thread that I posted earlier, and you will have a better idea on using WinSCP.

By the way, WinSCP is for Windows, SSH is for Mac users. Both programs do about the same thing, but for the appropriate computer platform.
