Not following you. Is the mic on the steering wheel or the dash? How many inches is the mic away from your mouth? Is there a maximum distance (in inches) beyond which you'll sound to the person on the other end like you're in a cave on mars?

I've read many posts about the HFK causing a reset on the phone. Is it possible to use the HFK without plugging the power into the cigarrette plug or does the mic need the power to operate?
