The hyperlink is there because you're viewing the message through Outlook Web Access (everything is a hyperlink). Can you get at your mail through the full Outlook client and see what the embedded file looks like there? That'd be more meaningful.
For what it's worth, you can hit your OWA site from your phone and see if the attachment will open there. PIE is probably better than Opera for that, but I've been known to do that when there's a problem with AS as a work around.
