I've been fighting battery issues also. It seems I've tried every trick in the book. Each sounds like it is going to be the ONE thing that will make my battery live twice as long but no. I'm still on the 1.6 ROM. Jim, you think there was a big difference going to 1.7? Any chance it was because you finally reinstalled all the apps when you went to 1.7 rather than restoring a backup? Or was it the ROM itself?

I've been thinking about getting a second battery also for when I need juice and can't take the time to charge. Jim, I recall you buying one of those AC adapters with a side charge for a spare battery. Did that work out for and you are still using it?
