If you enjoy surfing from your phone, this will be much better. All the articles I've read, say that the time to connect is faster, and the time it takes to load a page is much faster.
I'm stuck in a contract until next year, but I'll be seriously considering this phone. It's just one way to get closer to the "cloud".
