I've always found it funny and sad that Sprint and other companies expect someone who already has a phone data plan to pay $25-40+ per month, just so they can use EVDO through their laptop.
If someone was downloading massive GB's per day of data/porn/ or whatever and their phone internet was their primary way of connecting, then ok, I can see them charging you.
The fact is the phone itself with the internet sharing is enough and I think it is a wonderful feature that I have used several times, but only in rare instances.
For business you usually are in a hotel, convention center, cafe, office, or other location with WiFi.
For pleasure most of us want to shut down the link to work, but may want to check email or catch up on some news, but does it really matter if you are on the phone or tethered through the phone via a laptop?
