The PPC 6600 and PPC 6700 use different operating systems and differnt file formats for the contacts (pim.vol).

You would be best to sync using the USB (or Bluetooth) through Outlook. Once you connected the new 6700, all your contacts will be sent to it via Outlook.

If Outlook is not going to work, I believe there are some utilities to copy your contacts info to your SD. Just make sure it will work with both operating systems.
