Comparing Omnia, Diamond, Touch Pro
I'm looking to upgrade my XV6800 to an Omnia, a Diamond, or a Touch Pro (i.e., another Windows Mobile phone). I'm eligible for VZW's "New Every Two" discount. I just finished reviewing many of the posts on all of the devices' forums. I also spent considerable time comparing the sites on VZW.com. In a nutshell, these seem to be the major differences--in my modest and subjective opinion:
Omnia
Pros
Thin and stylish-looking, especially compared to the Touch Pro
8 GB of internal memory
5 MP camera
Cons
External, corded stylus
No slide out keyboard
Appears to have less Storage memory than my XV6800's 150 MB; not sure how the XV6800's 46 MB of Program memory compares
Diamond
Pros
Higher screen resolution than the Omnia
More Storage memory than the Omnia (appears to be comparable to my XV6800's 150 MB; not sure how the Program memory compares)
Cons
No slide out keyboard
"Blocky"-looking compared to the Omnia
Touch Pro
Pros
Higher screen resolution than the Omnia
Even more Storage memory than the Omnia; not sure how the Program memory compares
Slide out keyboard
Cons
High price
Usability between battery charges
"Blocky"-looking compared to the Omnia
Seems to be more reports of instability compared to the Omnia
Is the Touch Pro's slideout keyboard the major difference between it and the Diamond?
I appreciate any additional comments and/or first-hand experiences comparing these three models.
Thanks!
