Working via USB and ICS only
I tried the various installation instructions using the .91 version of WMWiFiRouter but could not get it to work. My laptop could see the connection and at one point got connected but only via USB connection. (which is all I really need for now equal to how I use PDANet).
I did a hard-reset to start over and decided to do one step at a time so I installed ICS from the copy I downloaded a few months back (not the one withing the .91 download) and did the soft-reset. I then connected to my laptop with ActiveSync 4.5 (already installed), fired up the connection via IntShrUI in the Programs group and disabled my wireless connection (to be sure I would not be using my in-house WiFi).
To my surprise, the phone connnected to the internet and my laptop opened a TCP/IP connection to the phone and I had internet access (again... via USB sync/charge cable).
I do not have WMWiFiRouter (any version) installed at this time.
So... if you're not overly concerned with getting on the internet via WiFi to your phone, this may work for you. I still want to do the WiFi setup but am happy to not use PDANet anymore for any of my computes/laptops.
It seems to me that the WMWiFiRouter software only permits connecting to ICS via 802.11b/g; I don't think it provides the "routing" part, but I could be wrong.
