You can do this to increase in-call volume:

Regisrty: HKCU\Control Panel\SoundCategories\InCall
Key: InitVol
Default: 5
New Value: 10

This seems to be the easy fix. I use a 6900 and the default level was 2! I set it at 7, seems to be much better
