I have to way in on this...the topic is too tantalizing. My I730 is my backphone as well... I actually like the fact that I now have a phone that I love and trust as my back-up pda phone, though it was getting to me as a full time long term phone... mostly cause it has taken a beating and it showed. I was given a treo 700WX, an answer to some needed provision! When I was using the 730, I needed more pda than phone, but now I need a good half and half and the treo has done that for me. And now that my 700WX is running WM 6.1...I like it a lot! But, The 730 still sets the standard for me for a lot of things! I actually would like to see something with a combo of many of their features, but of course greatly upgraded. Many of the phones VZW has out there are not much of an upgrade from either of the phones I have or use now! How sad is that, my 730 is years old? This is what is happening with the auto-makers...same stuff over and over and when something of real new and upgraded value comes, everyone jumps ship!

What's the upgrades really? A nicer camera on one and/or GPS maybe, but VZW strips the GPS down...so what then, just a nicer camera? My fingers are to big for a touch screen keyboard, and the only touch screent that really does it for me is the iphone... but att and only proprietary software on a non-business oriented pda phone, no dice. Big memory size or speed upgrade? Maybe, but not in one that has the nice camera and the non-stirpped GPS? Mrailing worked the system to get something going, and if I did think I would haveto brick 8 phones to get one right, then maybe I would try it. But he is still running WM6 and that is what I have too, which was not all that different than wm5 and they still have not given me a four hour reminder postponement option! Grrr! What else is out there that really says to me, I am a huge upgrade from what you have now...I am worth the money and time. The 730 captivated me! The 700wx is great for me right now! Nothing I am looking at has done the same. If my 730 had WM 6 and was not so beat up, I probably would still be using it!

I am telling you...the company that will let me order my phone the way I order a sandwhich at a Deli is going to get my business! If I could order a pdaphone like I could order a dell computer, and just sit online and get the body layout, form factor, and build type I want, and then add the faetures I would need, would have my business...well other than tmobile, cause I still want to be able to use my phone to make a phone call when I need to!
