I could only press the direction-thingy or the phone buttons, the password entry buttons weren't responding.
So I had to do a hard reset. I will try to figure out what happened. I was reading on the SPB bulletin board that people are having problems logging in after having the now screen active.

Hi, rnoia
Forgot my own first experience. Did you turn off the widgets before you tried installing Spb Mobile Shell. This is very important. Go to Start, Settings, Personal Tab, launch Today applet, uncheck Samsung Widget. If you don't, when you install Spb Mobile Shell, your device will lock up. I escaped with just a soft reset. But failure to disable the Widget interface as a Today screen plugin could be the cause of your problem (I got a little warning about not being able to run another Today screen plug-in just before I locked up). If you disable the widget plug-in, you should have no problem. It's always a good idea to have a backup program and do a ~daily backup to your microSD card (and/or your desktop). Backup just before you do a major install. I use Sprite Mobile Backup. There is also Spb Backup and Resco backup.
Also, if you have Spb Pocket Plus installed already, export any settings you have, uninstall Spb Pocket Plus BEFORE installing the Mobile Shell, install the Shell, reinstall Pocket Plus, then reimport your settings.
