I live in New England, didn't think I had an issue with this issue not getting EVDO, seemed liked the phone was okay, saw EVDO most of the time. It's difficult to say if it was any different than from before the upgrade. Just spent a week out in the Los Angeles area and my phone never saw EVDO, was on 1X the whole time.
