Good points, 8. 
Not to sure about the battery life however, from several weeks now of use - it really depends on which radios are on and what your running app wise.
One thing to be for-sure, to save on Battery life - the screen must time out to black or device off other wise... I'm only seeing about 6hrs - 8hrs tops.
