I can confirm as well, that Verizon is once again stocking i760's. I called today as I've been having some problems with the touch screen not responding well even after several calibrations (I've had the phone for a year and use the touch screen a LOT, think I just wore it out...).

The rep had no qualms with acknowledging the issues that had plagued the recent batch of i760's and stated that that issue has now been resolved and they are stocking the phone again. Unfortunately, I was literally just DAYS out of my 1 year warranty and had to pay the $50 insurance deductible to get the phone replaced. That's what you get when you procrastinate, people....

At any rate, I am more than happy to get another i760, and the refurb unit should be arriving Monday. I love this phone probably more than a man should love a phone . It does everything I had wanted from a PPC and a lot of stuff I never though I could do with one. I have had the opportunity to use a few other smart phones, including setting up a blackjack II for my father, and a 6700 that my wife had for three months. Also, several of my coworkers have the sprint version of the 6800 and I've set up theirs with various software and played around with them a bit. Overall, I think the i760 is definitely better than any other PPC I've had the chance to interact with so far. Build quality feels worlds better (HTC phones feel like toys!), and the responsiveness of the phone is noticeably quicker. I was able to sit there and count of SECONDS waiting for the screen to rotate after opening the keyboard on the 6800's. The i760 does it almost instantly. Also, I have some emulators for playing old NES and Genesis games on my phone, which I gave to one of my 6800-owning coworkers, only to watch it run horribly when he tried to load up Sonic and Mario. The frame rate was bad enough that I would consider it unplayable. I noted the same thing on some Java games that I put on one 6800 to run under Jbed.

Don't let the identical MHz of the CPU's fool you, the 6800 IS a SLOWER device, at least in every way I was able to compare the two. The only advantages it has are the GPS and more built in flash memory. Oh and no squishy screen.

I know a lot of people have jumped ship... to each their own, you know how that is, but personally I don't think I would like any other phone as much as I love this one. I do not look forward to the day when there are no more i760's available to replace mine should it ever develop more problems in the future.
