i want my device to check for new mail on a pop3 server on an hourly basis, but i also want it to disconnect as soon as it is done.... (verizon's quick connect uses minutes)

anyone have any suggestions?

in other words ideal situation

1) mobile client goes to check mail
2) automatically dials isp
3) collects mail
4) disconnects
