Let me give you one tip here. If you connect the iphone through the auxiliary cable, you will have also your phone calls through your car speakers and the iphone picks up the voice ten times better that bluetooth. I purchased the Kensington cigarette car charger and it works amazing. Plus, I have the iphone/ipod right close to me and change it quickly. Also, can make calls quickly. The car charger is just a charger and a convenient holder, therefore, even if you dont have this, you could use the hands free system.

I hope this helps. I have tried many ipod adapters, and to tell you the truth nothing works like the auxiliary for me.
