If you have insurance a call to Assurion is pretty painless. It'll cost you $50 (they bill a credit card) and you return the phone. They hold your credit card for collateral. If you have the lose coverage plan (the 5.99/mo plan) then can get a replacement for lost or stolen phones too. I think both avenues will try and replace the phone with the same or equivalent model... I know with Assurion you can get them to give you a different phone if you have a good reason or they don't have your model in stock. But you must talk to Assurions Tech Support, not thier regular CSR's, they are the one's that are authorized to do those kind of requests, so Ask for tech support first. Hope that helps

Hmm I may have to get it for the future because they give me more of a headache when trying to do the out of warranty replacement..I think the ONLY thing keeping me with Verizon is the fact that they have been good abot providing replacements..Other than that its VERY expensive and they have a crappy variety/selection of Pocket PC. Tried 2 XV6800 which were defective (or else they just suck), and don't want to really try the SCH-i760. How you liking your i760 say in comparison with the i730? I find with my i730 I have NO problem getting a signal in the basement where all the tech equipment is and where I need to be, and really dont have many problems with them at all..but I couldnt have a conversation with anyone on the XV6800. I had to call someone back like 5 times the other day on the XV6800and had to eventually go to a landline to get the conversation STARTED. I think I'm going to try at least one more brand new XV6800, then I may be forced to try an SCH-i760..or I may have to go with something else for now till I can win a brand new unused i730 from ebay or what not..:./ Any ideas?
