That seems odd. I can't remember if mine actually came with a USB cord. Anyway, I use my camera's USB cord with my phone, probably because I often travel with the camer. It works perfectly. But I don't use ActiveSync. I use Intellisync, the software VZ downloaded for wireless synchronization. I don't think I have ever connected the phone by wire to the computer with which it syncs (my office desktop). I connect it to my laptop only for tethering.
