Thumbs down Syncing via bluetooth on Windows

Sure I don't *need* to sync via bluetooth, but I should be able to, therefor I will be figuring this out!

It always frustrated me that Palms offer cool things like network syncing and now bluetooth syncing but they never explain how to actually set it up.

Palm explains the PDA part of setting up bluetooth syncing, but when it comes to explaining the computer portion, it says something lame like "consult your manufacturer, blah blah blah". What a disappointment.

From what I can tell, I need to set up some sort of virtual com port on my PC. But I haven't found an explanation anywhere of how to do that. The closest I've come is finding numerous payware apps that supposedly manage these sorts of ports, but I don't want to pay for something that does what I should be able to do myself.

Has anyone seen accurate instructions on how this is done?
